It's April, one week from Last Frost...

Which makes us here at UF2200 quite excited. The past week has seen many changes around here.
For one, we have some new members of the farm - Italian honeybees!! (who have their very own blog post coming up soon). We've gotten some much needed organic matter dropped off and late last week put some more lettuce transplants in the ground. We also direct seeded some sugar snap and snow peas, as well as some arugula and spring mesclun salad mix. Yesterday we finished preparing about half of the total beds and got some Brassicaceae planted - mustard, kale, broccoli, collards.
It's chilly today, but tonight might very well be the last frost of spring 2009. Squashes, tomatoes, potatoes, and beans, here we come!
